One sign of a great model is the ability to produce stunning photos without overwhelming the product being modeled. This is important in all types of modeling whether the model is walking the runway, in a magazine, on a website, and no matter what type of product is being modeled. Samantha’s modeling portfolio is a wonderful example of this. Walk with us through several great examples.
Consider Samantha’s first portfolio photo. She is seen in a black jumpsuit standing against a wall. The photographer did a wonderful job of making the viewer think. Samantha’s position makes you wonder if she is lying down or standing leaning against a wall. The black background highlights the lightness of Samantha’s skin. Her natural beauty means that only minimal makeup was needed. Samantha creates a photo that is almost dramatic in nature.
As we move forward in Samantha’s portfolio, we see a great example of her range. We still see her leaning against a wall. But, Samantha is in a much different outfit. She is sporting a long sleeve hoodie that is covered by a cut off jean jacket. This is brought together by her dark jeans. The use of light, background, and pose allows Samantha to create a photo that would be a show piece for many fashion campaigns.
Samantha’s dramatic ability is seen again in our next photo. But, there is an added element of elegance to it. She is seen sitting on stone steps in a black coat, black hat, and dark leggings. You notice the style and beauty created by the outfit. Through her pose and expression, Samantha is able to pull the viewer in. You wonder why she is no the steps, is she waiting for someone, or is she deep in thought? This ability to pull the viewer in is a great ability for any modeling project.
