Ellie Goulding Announced as the New Ambassador for Nike Athletics

She is the latest star to step up to the plate and model for world-renowned sportswear brand Nike and Ellie Goulding proved she was the perfect choice as she showed off her athleticism and trim physique during her recent commercial shoot.

The 28-year-old singer / songwriter puts her fitness levels on full display in this latest campaign as she’s seen performing handstands, martial arts and various high-intensity workout moves.

With five half-marathons completed in the last two years, it is no surprise that the singer looked fit and toned in her blue crop top and her patterned leggings. The talented artist proved that music always plays an integral part in her life as she can also be seen wearing her Nike attire in the recording studio, adding a whole other facet to the campaign.

Modeling agencies in New York and the world alike will no doubt be sitting up to take note, as this campaign follows suit in the strain of other designers such as Stella Mcartney and Chanel who have all followed an inspiration of fitness and women’s sportswear in their recent campaigns, in an attempt to spurn the interest of the younger fashion generation.

Ellie’s eye-catching advert sees her open up about her attitude towards her health and fitness regimen, as well as sharing some of her favorite workout techniques. The collection itself has a very edgy, urban feel to it, consequently making Ellie the perfect ambassador to bring it to the attention of Nike’s target market. It is made up of leggings, shorts, crop tops and lightweight jackets, all incorporating the bold use of colour that is synonymous with the Nike brand. However, the main difference here is the bold use of prints on block color even going as far as to incorporate monochrome and a digital mirror print effect.

This collection is already available to buy and you’ll undoubtedly be seeing it pop up in your local spin class or gym, not to mention on a great deal of the models getting themselves prepped and ready for New York Fashion Week. And why not, I say? There definitely isn’t anything wrong with injecting a bit of color into your daily workout, so hats off to you Nike, you’ve given us another good reason to get back down to the gym and actually have fun whilst we’re there.
